The new 2024 DJI Avata FPV drone

As we are all eagerly awaiting the April 11, 2024 launch event for the newest version of DJI’s prized Avata FPV drone, questions arise how this new drone will take first-person view flight to the next level.

While details are not yet known, insiders expect an even more sophisticated guidance system with improved sensors to avoid crashes and impact, as well as a new and improved camera system.

Flying an FPV drone at high speeds can be a challenge, especially if there are a lot of obstacles around. Most drones, including the existing DJI Avata version 1, offer different flight modes including a more “stable” point-and-click flight mode, and advanced modes where you can do 360-degree turns and more. The challenge with these more advance flight modes are that you can easily exceed the limits of the flight envelope and potentially crash your drone. It takes a lot of practice to be able to fly in these advanced modes which are, let’s be honest, a lot more interesting of course.

Let’s hope that DJI will introduce a more accessible way of flying your drone in advanced mode, with more safety precautions while still enabling you to make these crazy 360-degree motions.

But I guess we will all know more on April 11. You can find a link to the product launch site here: www.dji.com
